Our first step is removing the metal filling and cleaning up any decay in the area. Because metal fillings expand and contract with every hot or cold food, they very often damage the tooth they are in. Additionally, decay often develops under these metal fillings, which is another good reason to replace them.
After any decay is cleaned up, we use tooth-colored composite resin to fill the prepared area. A special light quickly hardens the resin and soon, you are ready to go, with a whiter, more beautiful smile.
